How To: Messy Side Braid

Create a 1 inch section along the hairline from ear to ear.  (Section 1)

Create a small triangle section (Section 2) along the nape of the neck on the left side.  Secure tightly with an elastic band.  This will be the anchor for your up style.

Prep Section 1 for braiding with a dime size amount of CHI Pliable Polish and braid Section 1 along the hairline beginning at the right temple.

Add pieces as you go, making the braid more full.  Continue the braid through the entire section and secure with an elastic band.

Loosen the braid by gently tugging apart the braided sections to create a slightly “messy” look.

For lift at the top, spray the top section of roots with CHI Infra Texture Hair Spray.

Tease at the crown with a CHI Backcombing Brush.

Create the next braid using the braid from Section 1 and the remaining hair.  Direct the new braid around the head from right to left towards Section 2.

Stop braiding when you reach Section 2 and secure the braid Section 2 to the anchor ponywith bobby pins.
