For Immediate Release--Space Shuttle Atlantis launched, marking the 135th and final lift off of the 30 year-old space shuttle program.
This historic mission also marks the first ever experiments sent into outer space by a hair care company.
Farouk Systems, official hair care sponsor of the Miss Universe Organization sent its research team led by Dr. Dennis Morrison, Senior VP of Technology of Farouk Systems, to load experiments studying the efficiency of microencapsulation of three antioxidants.
Dr. Morrison’s invention of micro capsules were patented by NASA and were flown previously on the STS-107 flight and recovered from the same experiment apparatus that was found in Texas after the destruction of the Shuttle Columbia.
Dr. Morrison returned to Kennedy Space Center on July 21, 2011 to unload the returning payload from Shuttle Atlantis for further study.
