FOR IMMEDATE RELEASE—Columbia Analytical Services has conducted independent lab analysis using the EPA Method TO-11A on CHI Enviro American Smoothing Treatment and concluded that all formulations meet the enforceable permissible air quality exposure limits set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The independent lab determined the formula for chemically treated hair contains no formaldehyde levels above the lab reporting limit, while the formulas for Highlighted/Porous and Virgin/Resistant hair are 16 times and 34 times, respectively, below the levels permitted by OSHA.
CHI Enviro American Smoothing Treatment remains the top choice for easy, safe and effective hair smoothing compared to other hazardous blowouts and keratin-based straightening treatments containing harmful levels of formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing chemicals.
“Hairstylists can now increase their earning potential without compromising their health by offering CHI Enviro American Smoothing Treatment,” says Farouk Shami, founder and chairman of Farouk Systems. “Our mission statement has been and still is: Environment, Education and Ethics.”
