The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies from vendors needed for production.

Duties & Responsibilities Required:

·         Responsible for ordering and maintaining proper inventory levels of materials for manufacturing operation (i.e. labels, brochures, printed material items, etc.)

·         Establish and maintain a consistent cycle counting schedule to assure inventory accuracy.

·         Interact with various departments to ensure continuous supply of materials and deadlines are met.

·         Work with the Marketing Department on new packaging projects.

·         Research products to ensure practicality, cost effectiveness, and supply availability.

·         Negotiate with vendors to obtain optimum quality, cost, terms, etc. and maintain relationships with them.

·         Resolve vendor related problems.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Required:

·         3+ years experience performing purchasing

·         Experience in a manufacturing environment.

·         Experience purchasing plastic bottles in bulk.

·         Knowledge of computerized information systems used in manufacturing applications i.e. SXE or MRP a PLUS.

Skills Required:

·         Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)

·         Excellent communication and negotiation skills

·         Ability to handle changing priorities and tight deadlines.

·         SAP experience is preferred.
