Q: How does CHI Infra Environmental High Lift Cream Color lift and deposit in a single step?
A: Advanced American CHI Technology, which is the integration of 44 ingredients infused with ceramics, ionic and far infrared producing materials. This helps to lighten the hair from the inside and outside without harshly opening the cuticle layer. This unique method will insure better and deeper penetration inside the cortex of the hair, controlling the underlying pigments. Ionic charge (+/-) will anchor the dyes inside of the hair ensuring the longevity of the tone.
Q: What makes CHI Infra Environmental No Lift Cream Color unique?
A: CHI Infra Environmental No Lift Cream Color combines the highest grade of dyes in a cream oil base for smooth application and longer-lasting color results. The ammonia free formula produces less swelling of the hair during the color service resulting in stronger and healthier hair with less damage than conventional ammonia-based colors.
Q: Is the CHI Infra Environmental No Lift Cream Color recommended for gray coverage?
A: Yes. Tones may appear more vibrant when covering gray with CHI Infra Environmental No Lift Cream Color.
Q: Can I use CHI Infra Environmental High Lift Cream Colors for full head applications?
A: We recommend CHI Infra Environmental High Lift Cream Colors ONLY for foiling, cap, and highlighting, due to the intensity of the color. DO NOT apply against the scalp. This will cause staining. Full head applications can be done if applied 1/8” away from the scalp.
Q: How many levels can I lift with CHI Infra High Lift Colors?
A: Lifting action always depends on the level, condition, texture, porosity and previous chemical services of the hair. It also depends on the chosen color generator used and whether heat is being used.

- CHI Infra Reds 1-6 levels
Q: May I use other developers? Do I always have to mix?
A: CHI Infra High Lift Colors are specifically formulated to work only with CHI Color Generators. Equal mixing ratio (1:1) will guarantee maximum lift and intense color deposit. However, the product can be mixed slightly thinner or thicker based upon your personal preference.
Q: Do I need to process CHI Infra High Lift Colors with heat?
A: Low heat with CHI IR Processor can be recommended for hair that is:
- Coarse
- Resistant/Normal
- Tinted
- Lifting darker levels
- Lifting more than 3-4 levels
A: Room Temperature with CHI IR Processor can be recommended for hair that is:
- Fine
- Porous
- Permed
- Straightened
- Lifting lighter levels
- Lifting less than 3 levels
Note: Always test a strand of hair first and use your professional judgment. Do not use heat on relaxed hair!
Q: Can I mix CHI Infra Blondes and Reds together?
A: No. Do not mix any of CHI Infra Red or Blonde Colors together.
Q: Can I mix CHI Infra Reds with other CHI Infra Red Colors?
A: CHI Infra Reds can be mixed with other CHI Infra Red Colors. However, if you want to achieve the purest color tones we recommend using the desired color tone by itself.
Q: Can I mix CHI Infra Blondes with other CHI Infra Blonde Colors?
A: If you want to achieve the purest color tones we recommend using the desired color tone by itself. Only CB (Cool Blonde) and BB (Beige Blonde) can be mixed with each other since they are both cool tones. Do not mix GB (Golden Blonde) with CB (Cool Blonde) or BB (Beige Blonde). Warm and cool are opposite tones and mixing them will result in neutralizing.
Q: Can I add CHI Infra High Lift Cream Colors to CHI Ionic Permanent Shine Color mixture or to any other colors?
A: No. Do not add any CHI Infra High Lift Cream Colors to any color mixtures.
Q: What kind of techniques can I use with CHI Infra High Lift Colors?
A. CHI Infra Reds can be used with all off the scalp high-lighting techniques (foiling, cap, free hand etc.). CHI Infra Blondes can be used with all off the scalp high-lighting techniques as well as for full head applications (10 & 20 vol. only, stay 1/8” away from the scalp).
Q: What types of hair can CHI Infra High Lift Color be performed on?
A: CHI Infra High Lift Color will work exceptionally well on virgin hair as well as on hair that has been previously colored or chemically treated. It is not recommended on bleached hair.
Q: Can I use CHI Infra High Lift Colors/Blondest Blonde on relaxed hair?
A: It can be done after a successful strand test. Relaxed hair will lighten much faster; therefore, you need to check the lifting/depositing action constantly. Only use low volumes (10 & 20 volume) Do not use any heat on relaxed hair!
Q: Can I cover grey hair with CHI Infra High Lift Colors?
A: CHI Infra High Lift Colors are not recommended for gray coverage. They are high lift colors.
Q: How can I refresh the mid-shaft and ends when doing retouch applications with CHI Infra Red High Lift Colors?
A: Apply CHI Infra Reds only to the re-growth area. Use corresponding Farouk Systems CHI Permanent Shine Colors (CG (Copper Gold), RR (Red Red), RV (Red Violet), and RO (Red Orange)) with low volumes to refresh the mid-shaft & ends.
Q: Should I use 30 volume with CHI Infra Reds?
A: On some cases 30 volume can be recommended when working on very dark hair (levels 1-3). However, you may get better results by working with 10-20 volume and extending the processing time at room temperature. Remember to always conduct a strand test and use your professional judgment.
Q: Can I do highlights by applying CHI Infra High Lift Colors directly over my color application?
A: Absolutely, if you are using Farouk Systems Colors and Lighteners. Due to our ammonia-free concept, highlights can be done directly over the color application when working with Farouk Systems Colors.
Note: You may achieve little or less lift due to the fact that the CHI Infra is lightening both the artificial color and the natural hair color.
